Boston’s Bodega, Portland’s Shwood and Ireland’s Bushmills Irish Whiskey have joined forces on a project that began, improbably, in the latter’s distillery. For all its experimental fermentation washbacks and triple-distill boilers, Bushmills still matures its whiskey in wooden barrels. But these aren’t just ordinary barrels — they’re made from the finest American white oak, used to hold the spirits for up to fifteen years. Some of these ancient barrels were shipped intact from Ireland to Shwood’s Portland workshop, where the aged material was then crafted into a pair of Canby frames. Limited to just 100 pieces, these Bushmills sunglasses come in special wooden crate packaging with a mini-crowbar. They’re available now at Bodega, both in-store and online.
