Nike LeBron X | Detailed Look

Nike LeBron X | Detailed Look

In creating the Nike LeBron X, the design team at Nike Basketball took inspiration from the creation of a diamond, a metaphor that can be applied to LeBron James’ career. Time and extreme pressure work to transform carbon into a precious jewel, refining a dull rock into something with clarity and multiple facets. It’s the kind of transformation that leads to an NBA title and league MVP honors. Taking the comparison even further, the introductory colorways of the LeBron X speak to specific aspects of LeBron’s game: the Blue Diamond colorway is a nod to the blue cast that diamonds gain from interacting with electricity, analogous to James’ electric style of play. Meanwhile, the Cutting Jade colorway is inspired by the Chinese art of cutting jade using diamonds.
Nike+ Basketball technology will grace two versions of the shoe: the fully loaded LeBron X+ Sport Pack, made up of the shoes and Nike+ Sport Kit, and the Nike+ Basketball enabled version with Nike+ technology embedded in the midsole. A non-enabled version of the LeBron X is available as well. Technical benefits include a lock-down fit thanks to Flywire technology, excellent cushioning on impact via a full-length visible Nike Zoom unit, and a lightweight feel courtesy of Hyperfuse construction. Finally, diamond-inspired detailing throughout the upper once again references LeBron’s journey, highlighted by the ten-year anniversary of his relationship with Nike.
